The place to buy Armenian pizza...lahmajun.... in Glendora...this little bakery with lots of steady customers. They sold kibbeh frozen in bags of 20 for 20 dollars. They sold Borek (soft bread turnover) with cheese, Borek with spinach, and lahmajun (one dollar each).

The Egyptian/Middle East grocery store next door had Nazook...a tender sweet flaky rolled up pastry.
John tried the bitter melon...yes, it was bitter!

Fresh Strawberries in January

On the corner of Grove and Foothill...is a big strawberry filed and a stand. I could not believe that they were harvesting strawberries already and that we could buy and eat freshly picked strawberries int he middle of January!!!!!!

Joan had to take pictures of the pickers in the field....an early harvest!

Big, juicy and sweet!

PIEOLOGY

We heard that PIEOLOGY-where you can order ANY kind of pizza....you watch them put on the ingredients..kind of like Subway...kind of like Chipotle...is really good..so we went to one...

It takes about 3 minutes to bake these nice thin crusted pizzas.
Joan had bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, olives, red onions, cilantro....
John had buffalo chicken pizza with red onion and cilantro....

Our receipt....we were at the Pieology in Rancho Cucamonga.
Just a segment of the big wall of inspiring quotes they have at PIEOLOGY.....so as you eat, you can contemplate the wisdom of these quotes...

Our Favorite Mexican Eatery

After we cruised around Balboa Island on a September outing, we went to Taco Mesa in...
Costa Mesa   ...647 W. 19th Street
...a place we love! They have such a great menu! So delicious! Authentic Mexican food! This time they had some new art on the walls...

And they added fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable drinks to their menu!

We got a kick out of the bathrooms...

Some art in the little garden they have by the outdoor tables...

This place isa next to a McDonald's. Why would anyone want to go to a McDonalds when a Taco Mesa is right next door????

A fountain adds some great atmosphere, too...

Joan got a salmon taco with mango salsa...

John's wet burrito...

And some deep fried chilis stuffed with cream cheese.

I Heart Potato Chips

On a road trip in September, I brought a favorite snack - a bag of krinkle cut kettle cooked potato chips. Look at what I found in the bag! How rare is that? I had to take 2 different pictures of it...
